Only looks for facts that supports their preference when making a decision is the item from the ambio360 that most often comes back as needing work AND needing the most work!
When upper level managers take the survey, they almost always get their lowest scores on the item. For these folks, the item is usually in the
Inconsistent category. For younger people, it often appears in the
Negative category.
It's important to remember that the feedback is how people perceive the person sending out the 360 survey - not necessarily how the person really behaves.
The question and challenge for most people then is:
1) do I really just look for the facts that support what I really wanted to do in the first place (this would be disgusting and clearly not good practice)
or
2) do I just give off this impression...So how do I change how people perceive me if this is not how I really am?
So, what do you think is going on...
How can you change this perception...?
